- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ¾ cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 4 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 ½ cups Domino® Golden Sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 4 large eggs
- 1 ¼ cups milk
- For frosting: 2 cups unsalted butter, room temperature
- 8 cups Domino® Powdered Sugar
- 2 tsp almond extract
- 3–5 tbsp heavy whipping cream
- Salt, to taste
- Red and blue gel icing color
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line cupcake pans with liners.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy; add eggs one at a time along with vanilla.
- Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk until well mixed.
- Fill liners two-thirds full and bake for 18–20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow cooling completely.
- For frosting, beat butter until smooth, gradually add powdered sugar, then mix in almond extract and cream for desired consistency. Divide into three bowls; color one red and another blue.
