Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh salmon (cut into 4 equal pieces)
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil and butter for cooking

Instructions

  1. Bring salmon to room temperature by removing it from the fridge for 15–20 minutes. Pat dry and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Whisk together brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic powder, lemon juice, ginger, Worcestershire sauce, chicken broth, and cornstarch in a bowl; set aside.
  3. Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add salmon skin-side down and sear for about 5 minutes.
  4. Flip the salmon and cook for another 2–3 minutes until nearly cooked through.
  5. Add the remaining butter to the skillet, pour in the sauce between salmon pieces, and let it thicken for about 20–30 seconds before flipping the salmon again to coat with glaze.
  6. Serve immediately with desired sides.
