  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • For the sauce: 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (optional)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the diced chicken in a mixture of soy sauce, sesame oil, and black pepper for 10–15 minutes.
  2. Prepare the sauce by whisking together remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), black pepper, salt, crushed red pepper flakes (if using), and cornstarch slurry.
  3. Heat butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the marinated chicken until golden brown; set aside.
  4. Sauté onion and garlic in the same skillet until fragrant.
  5. Add cabbage, bell pepper, and carrot; stir-fry until vegetables are tender yet crisp.
  6. Return chicken to the skillet and pour in the sauce. Stir well and cook for an additional 2–3 minutes to meld flavors.
  7. Serve hot with green onions as garnish.
