  • 1/2 cup low-fat milk

  • 4 egg whites
  • Pinch cream of tartar
  • 3 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon granulated sugar (for meringue)
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and coat a non-stick baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, cocoa powder, and flour until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, mix low-fat milk, water, egg yolks, and vanilla extract until blended.
  4. Gradually add wet ingredients to dry ingredients; stir until smooth.
  5. In a clean bowl, beat egg whites with cream of tartar until soft peaks form; gradually add sugar and continue beating until stiff peaks form.
  6. Gently fold the whipped egg whites into the chocolate mixture using a rubber spatula.
