- 1 cup granulated sugar

- Cinnamon
- 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar (for sugar coating)
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (for sugar coating)
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon (for cookies)
- 2–3 teaspoons whole milk (as needed for frosting consistency)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix granulated sugar with cinnamon for coating.
- Cream together softened butter, shortening, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth. Gradually add flour, cornstarch, salt, baking powder, and cinnamon until combined.
- Portion out dough onto the baking sheets and roll in cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Bake for 12-14 minutes until golden around the edges; let cool completely before frosting.
- For the buttercream, beat together unsalted butter, confectioners' sugar, light brown sugar, cinnamon, and milk until fluffy. Frost cooled cookies.
