Ingredients
- 5 pieces of bacon
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup onion (diced)
- 2 sticks celery (diced)
- 6 tablespoons flour
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 lb Yukon potatoes (peeled & diced)
- 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese (shredded)
- Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook bacon in a large pot over medium-high heat until crispy. Drain on paper towels, leaving fat in the pot.
- Brown ground beef in the same pot; drain excess fat.
- Sauté onion and celery in the rendered fat until softened.
- Stir in garlic and flour; cook for 2 minutes.
- Gradually whisk in chicken broth until smooth.
- Add heavy cream, potatoes, Worcestershire sauce, and browned beef; bring to a boil then simmer until potatoes are tender.
- Stir in cheese and most of the cooked bacon; season to taste.
