  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • ½ cup water or beef broth
  • 1 yellow onion, sliced
  • 1 tsp grated ginger (optional)
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, rice vinegar, and sesame oil for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sugar, cornstarch, and water in a bowl; set aside.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over high heat; cook the marinated beef for 2–3 minutes until browned. Remove from skillet.
  4. Stir-fry bell peppers and onion for about 3–4 minutes until tender-crisp; add garlic and ginger.
  5. Return beef to the skillet; pour in the prepared sauce and stir until thickened (about 2–3 minutes).
  6. Serve hot over rice or noodles.
