  • ½ cup (100 ml) dry red wine
  • 2 cans (14 oz / 400 g each) crushed tomatoes
  • lb (900 g) gnocchi
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large deep pan over medium heat. Add onion, carrot, and celery; cook until softened.
  2. Stir in garlic and then add ground beef. Cook until browned.
  3. Pour in red wine and simmer briefly.
  4. Add crushed tomatoes, seasonings, and let the sauce simmer for about 15 minutes.
  5. Cook gnocchi as per package instructions; drain.
  6. Combine cooked gnocchi with the sauce and serve hot.
