  • 8 oz linguine or fettuccine noodles
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium beef broth
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 6 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 4 tsp fresh grated ginger
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 4 green onions (sliced)

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes, adding ginger and garlic in the last 2 minutes.
  2. Cook noodles according to package instructions until al dente; drain.
  3. After draining excess fat from the beef, stir in brown sugar, beef broth, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, black pepper, and optional red pepper flakes. Mix well.
  4. Whisk cornstarch with water in a small bowl to create a slurry; add to the skillet and simmer until thickened (about 2-3 minutes).
  5. Toss cooked noodles into the skillet until well coated with sauce. Let sit for an additional couple of minutes to absorb flavors.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with sliced green onions if desired.
