  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated or minced
  • 1 cup water, divided
  • 2 tablespoons corn starch
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 3 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the teriyaki sauce by combining soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, and ¾ cup water in a saucepan. Bring to a low boil.
  2. Mix corn starch with the remaining ¼ cup water in a bowl until dissolved and add to the saucepan; cook until thickened. Stir in orange zest and set aside.
  3. In a wok or large skillet, heat sesame oil over medium-high heat. Sauté diced onion for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add ground turkey and cook until fully cooked through (165°F), about 7-10 minutes.
  5. Stir in broccoli and carrots; cook until tender (5-7 minutes). Pour teriyaki sauce over stir fry and simmer for a few minutes.
  6. Serve over rice or noodles, or use as filling in lettuce wraps.
