  • 32 oz marinara sauce
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup Pecorino Romano cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • minced fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and butter a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook ziti in salted water until al dente, then drain.
  3. In a skillet, brown the sausage over medium-high heat; drain excess fat.
  4. Add minced garlic, marinara sauce, and red pepper flakes to the skillet; simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Combine cooked pasta with the sausage mixture until coated.
  6. Layer half of the pasta in the baking dish, sprinkle half of both cheeses on top, add remaining pasta, and finish with remaining cheeses.
  7. Bake uncovered for 20 minutes until cheese is bubbly. Let rest before serving.
