  • 2 pints blueberries, rinsed
  • 1 pre-made angel food cake, sliced into 1-inch pieces
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 8 oz containers cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup sugar (for syrup)
  • 2/3 cup sugar (for cream mixture)
  • 1/4 tsp almond extract
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Prepare the syrup by heating sugar, lemon juice, and water in a saucepan until dissolved. Cool.
  2. In a bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth; add almond extract. In another bowl, whip heavy cream to soft peaks; fold into the cream cheese mixture.
  3. In a trifle dish, layer angel food cake slices at the bottom. Drizzle syrup over cake, then add layers of strawberries, blueberries, and cream mixture. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used.
  4. Cover with plastic wrap and chill for at least 2 hours before serving.
