Ingredients
- 2 pints strawberries, rinsed and sliced
- 2 pints blueberries, rinsed
- 1 pre-made angel food cake, sliced into 1-inch pieces
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 2 8 oz containers cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup sugar (for syrup)
- 2/3 cup sugar (for cream mixture)
- 1/4 tsp almond extract
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- Prepare the syrup by heating sugar, lemon juice, and water in a saucepan until dissolved. Cool.
- In a bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth; add almond extract. In another bowl, whip heavy cream to soft peaks; fold into the cream cheese mixture.
- In a trifle dish, layer angel food cake slices at the bottom. Drizzle syrup over cake, then add layers of strawberries, blueberries, and cream mixture. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used.
